Sports Focus Fortnight

We have had a busy couple of weeks working through our Sports Focus Fortnight. We started off with high hopes and excitement in the Euros. P5/6 can certainly boogie!

Then all pupils showed a great attitude on Sports Day with great successes all round. Individual photos can be seen on the pupil’s online profile in ‘What’s stuck with me’ section.

We worked in pairs/trios to research the Olympic venue ~ Tokyo and the Euro hosting cities and shared these with the class. Do you know how many people live in Tokyo? P5/6 were amazed!

P6 are proud of their food bank/ local larder collection. Well done!

We finished off the last week of term with some parachute fun!

A hard working end to our term! Now time for a well earned rest! Happy holidays everyone 🥳🥳🥳

Pupil profiles

Reports and pupil profiles went home today. The larger art work can be kept at home but if red profiles and their contents could be returned by Friday. I hope you enjoy chatting through these snapshots and pupils can show you their online profiles by logging on to their Google account. The ‘What’s stuck with me’ section for Term 4 will show you the learning that has interested your child.

Scratch success!

As part of our digital focus fortnight, P5/6 have worked hard to code their own games with great success. We had jumping games, cat and mouse and virtual pets. Pupils will be able to show you their projects by logging in to Scratch at home.

Tree Planting in Craigmonie Woods

We wrapped up warm with wellies & waterproofs and braved the rain! We planted birch and blackthorn saplings. Thank you to the volunteers from the local Woodland Trust for helping us! We managed a little bit of tree identification on the way back. We couldn’t walk past without giving the Punching Tree a bit of a cuddle! P5/6 are excited to take their families for a wander to show them their own newly planted tree!

Outdoor Learning Monday 24th May

P5/6 will have a morning of outdoor learning on Monday. We will be planting trees with the Local Craigmonie Woodland Trust volunteers followed by outdoor learning activities in the woodland. Your child will need warm clothes (a long sleeved top and trousers/leggings are advised), a waterproof coat and suitable footwear. We will be leaving at 9am sharp. We will also be having P.E as normal so please remember P.E kit.

Playground Games

Mrs Laird showed P5/6 and P6/7 a new playground game to try today called Foursquare. This is a great game for concentration, ball skills and allows everyone to get a go as it moves so fast!
