Taking action for the Global Goals

P5/6 have chosen to take action on Global Goal 2 and Global Goal 12. We came up with lots of great ideas to help with this and have chosen a couple of tasks to focus on this week.

P5/6 would like to support the local community larder in Drumnadrochit and the Highland Foodbank in Inverness. Please see the next post for details…

We are going to grow potatoes in school and hope to donate them to the local larder. We are going to educate our families on Scotland’s food waste scandal!

Did you know? Every year Scotland could fill Murrayfield Rugby Stadium four times with wasted food. Over half of this food could be eaten safely! Look out for more shocking facts and helpful tips coming your way soon!

In addition to this, pupils have made individual pledges towards the global goals which include walking/cycling to school as often as possible, litter picking safely, using a reusable bag and water bottle.
